This Seattle incident occurred slightly more than a month after a tragic BASE jumping accident in Utah claimed two lives on June 14. The fatal incident took place in the remote Mineral Bottom canyon area outside of Moab, as announced by the Grand County Sheriff’s Office.

The first victim was identified as Andy Lewis, a 39-year-old extreme sports athlete who gained fame for performing in the Super Bowl XLVI halftime show alongside Madonna. Lewis owned BASE Jump Moab, a Utah-based operation, as well as Moab Swingers, a popular rope swing attraction in the region.
