Two additional murder suspects detained following 14-year-old’s fatal shooting
A 14-year-old boy, Eghosa Ogbebor, lost his life in a shooting on Lord Warwick Street, Woolwich, around 15:40 BST on Thursday. The incident occurred in south-east London, where the victim succumbed at the scene. Police have since made further arrests in connection with the case.
On Saturday, the Met Police revealed the detention of a 16-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man under suspicion of murder. A 46-year-old man was also taken into custody for allegedly aiding the perpetrator. Earlier, three individuals—two minors aged 14 and 16, and an 18-year-old man—were arrested on Friday but released on bail.
Investigation continues with heightened police presence
“Our team of dedicated detectives is ongoing with efforts to uncover the circumstances surrounding Eghosa’s death,” stated Det Ch Insp Lucie Card, who oversees the case. “Local residents might have noticed increased police activity last night as part of the investigation.” She added, “The community’s concern remains our priority, and they can expect more officers in the area moving forward.”
The detective emphasized the importance of public cooperation, asking anyone with relevant information or sightings of unusual behavior to reach out to the authorities. Updates on the case will likely follow as inquiries progress.
