Officials confirmed the death of a three-month-old infant following a suspected dog attack in Redcar. The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon, prompting the deployment of armed officers to a residence on Hardale Grove in Dormanstown. The police action involved the removal of two dogsāone from the street and another from the property.
“Authorities are currently examining the circumstances surrounding the child’s death, with the incident initially classified as a dog bite fatality,” said Cleveland Police.
A 45-year-old man was detained on suspicion of allowing a dog to act dangerously out of control, resulting in serious harm. He has since been released on conditional bail. Meanwhile, a 31-year-old woman sustained an arm injury during the attack and received medical attention.
