Child dies in dog attack, police say

Child’s Life Claimed in Suspected Dog Attack

Cleveland Police confirmed the death of a child following a suspected dog attack. The incident occurred on Hardale Grove in Dormanstown, Redcar, around 13:30 BST. Officers were dispatched to the scene after receiving reports of a child in danger. By the time they arrived, the child was no longer alive, and authorities suspect the cause was a dog bite. Two dogs were involved: one was removed from the street and killed, while the other was taken into custody at the property.

Investigation Underway

The BBC has requested details about the child’s age and the breeds of the dogs involved. Redcar and Cleveland District Commander Emily Harrison stated that police are still at the location, conducting a full inquiry. “This is a deeply upsetting event, and we are with the family during this difficult time,” Harrison emphasized. She urged the public to reach out if they have any additional information or concerns.
