Burglars who used Rightmove to plan raids jailed
A group of thieves employed Rightmove and Google to orchestrate their criminal activities, recently sentenced for their actions. The four men, including Kristian Gropcaj (31), George Pepa (31), Krisjian Dedndreaj (29) from the West Midlands, and Sidorjan Lleshi (27) from Sheffield, admitted guilt at Chester Crown Court.
Their thefts totaled over a million pounds in goods, targeting affluent residences nationwide. They systematically looted homes, seizing cash, jewelry, and other items, while establishing weekly goals for gold extraction. The trio received sentences ranging from nine to 10 years and nine months, with Endrit Nikolli (27) set to face sentencing in a subsequent hearing.
Gang’s operational strategy
Hailing from Albania, the group was connected to 44 burglaries spanning multiple regions in the UK. These included eight in Cheshire, two in Middlesbrough, nine in Derbyshire, two in Leicestershire, five in Nottinghamshire, seven in Staffordshire, two in Warwickshire, three in Birmingham, three in Worcestershire, two in Hereford, and one in Shropshire.
According to court testimony, the criminals used Google to locate prosperous areas and Rightmove to study property layouts.
Cheshire Police found the gang frequently accessed homes via the upper floors, using ladders to bypass alarm systems that only monitored ground-level areas. Homes were thoroughly searched, with bedsheets torn from mattresses to create temporary containers for stolen goods.
CCTV captured them removing a complete safe from a single residence. The method involved breaking in, ransacking properties, and transporting loot using makeshift bags crafted from ripped bed linens.
