Murder arrest over Primrose Hill stabbing

Arrest made following fatal incident

A 27-year-old man has been taken into custody on suspicion of murder after Finbar Sullivan, a 21-year-old filmmaking student, was stabbed to death in Primrose Hill. Police were dispatched to the scene shortly after 18:30 BST, where they found the victim with critical injuries. He succumbed to his wounds at the location. The Metropolitan Police confirmed that a 25-year-old man was also detained for allegedly aiding the perpetrator. Both suspects are currently in police custody.

Chris Sullivan’s emotional statement

Finbar’s father, Chris Sullivan, 65, expressed his grief, highlighting his son’s potential and the shock of the event. “He was exceptional, someone with a bright future,” he told BBC London.

“All of his friends said he was the light, the leader. His friends’ parents loved him. This is why it’s so tragic,”

he added. Chris revealed that Finbar had recently battled health issues, including an autoimmune disease and partial vision loss in one eye.

“He was very talented—his future was full of promise. It’s gone now. I’m going to devote myself to raise money for charities he cared about,”

he said.

Tragic setting and unanswered questions

Chris emphasized the surreal nature of the incident, noting the peaceful location of the park.

“If we was some bully, a smack-taking idiot, you could understand it. It’s beyond anything anyone could possibly imagine. I’d give everything I own to have him back again,”

he reflected. The father described waking to a quiet home without his son’s laughter, calling the silence “gaping.”

“It’s so shocking to wake up to a quiet house and not hear him wishing me ‘good night.’ This is some surreal film I wish I was going to snap out of,”

he said.

Police investigation continues

Detective Inspector Andy Griffin stated,

“My thoughts remain with Finbar’s family, who continue to receive support from specialist officers during this unimaginably difficult time. Although we have made two arrests, my officers continue working around the clock to trace everyone involved,”

he said. Griffin also thanked the public for sharing information and urged anyone with footage from the area to contact authorities. “Residents can expect increased police presence as dedicated local officers patrol Primrose Hill and surrounding areas,” he added.
