Melania Trump says rumours linking her to Epstein ‘need to stop’
First Lady Melania Trump Urges End to Epstein Rumors
Call for Congressional Hearings Amid Allegations
During a press appearance at the White House, First Lady Melania Trump rejected claims linking her to Jeffrey Epstein, stating that “any assertions connecting us must cease immediately.” Her remarks came as part of a sudden initiative to push for legislative sessions involving survivors of Epstein’s alleged sex trafficking activities. She also challenged online speculation suggesting Epstein played a role in introducing her to President Donald Trump, labeling such claims as “malicious efforts to damage my standing.”
The White House did not specify the reason behind the abrupt announcement. Trump emphasized her lack of involvement, asserting, “I have always been unaware of Epstein’s mistreatment of his victims. I was never part of any arrangement.” She further denied familiarity with Ghislaine Maxwell, the imprisoned financier associated with Epstein. A 2002 correspondence between her and Maxwell, unveiled in the Epstein documents, was described by Trump as “a simple exchange” and “a courteous response.”
“Every woman deserves the chance to share her account publicly, and their sworn statements should be formally recorded in Congress,” she stated, urging lawmakers to “grant these individuals the opportunity to testify under oath.” This would, according to Trump, ensure “the truth is fully established.” The first lady stressed the importance of transparency, insisting that “only after their testimony is officially documented can we claim to have the complete truth.”
